There are now only 2 spots left on our Papa’s Paris Tour for June 17-25. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Have questions, concerns? Don’t let them hold you back. Here are some of the questions I’ve received from clients, and my responses.
Flics at a crêpe stand – the French version of cops at a donut shop. When this flic saw the flash from my camera, he turned around and said, "No photos!" Then he cracked up and said, "Just kidding." Photo: Elizabeth Kemble
Q. Is it safe to travel to Paris?
A. It’s safer to travel to Paris than to stay at home. Every year, more Americans are killed by their own furniture than by terrorism. In 2014, 32 Americans were killed worldwide by acts of terrorism. Every year, 35,000-40,000 Americans are killed in car crashes in the United States. The number has gone up by 10% in recent years due to the use of smartphones while driving.

Q. I’m traveling alone and am afraid I will feel uncomfortable.
A. All our current clients are traveling solo – our goal at Travellati Tours is to foster conviviality, community, and fun. We gather around large tables whenever possible so we can get to know each other and share our adventure and our experiences.

Q. I can’t speak French.
A. No problemo! The tour is in English and your guide will translate whenever needed.

Q. My husband doesn’t like to travel.
A. Say, “Honey, I’m going on this wonderful girls’ week off and if you’d like to take a week off to go to a golf club or skiing, you have my full support.”

Q. I’m introverted and having people around me all the time wears me out.
A: I can totally relate – I am sometimes introverted and sometimes extraverted. The nice thing with a group is you can let other people do the talking for a while and just sit back and enjoy. Your guide will also interact with restaurant, hotel, museum, and other staff on your behalf. And we always schedule in ample “time off” which you can use as you like, to sleep, daydream, hang out at a café, or go on an adventure with a fellow guest.

Q. Is this a good time to travel to France?
A. Yes, it’s an excellent time. The result of the recent French presidential election bodes stability and continuity, the dollar is very strong against the Euro, and the number of tourists is lower than in recent years, so more space for you!
